ALS Association (als.org) “The world’s leading ALS organization”. They provide support to ALS patients and their families, funding for ALS research, help in navigating the complexities of insurance systems, advocacy for better research funding and policies for those impacted by ALS, and many other forms of support. They are committed to seeing that every person living with ALS, regardless of where they live, being able to access high-quality care and effective treatments.  

ALS Hope Foundation (alshf.org) Their mission is to provide care for patients and families with ALS, education to the community, and research towards a cure for ALS. Some of their resources include educational videos, caregiver forums, and links to global ALS associations.

ALS United (alsunited.org) Their main mission is to bring together independent organizations across the country, connecting ALS patients to clinics and groups that are local to them and best able to provide the best care and support while keeping them connected to their community. They also provide access to many online educational events and support groups.

HARK (hark-als.org) They provide grants and financial assistance to help families burdened with the exorbitant costs associated with ALS. Things like equipment not normally covered by insurance, travel expenses for doctor’s visits or family events, some household expenses, or small home modifications. They even have a program to sponsor kids of ALS patients to help make their holidays memorable if their parents are struggling.

Team Gleason (teamgleason.org) Started by Steve Gleason, former safety for the New Orleans Saints, their goal is to provide innovative, leading-edge technology, equipment, and services to help those living with ALS be able to still live life to the fullest. They focus on communication, home automation, and alternative mobility but will work with patients and their care teams to find the best solutions for their individual needs.
